Boston Red Sox Tickets for 2009 Baseball Season On Sale Now
January 25th, 2009Boston Red Sox Freeze Ticket Prices
November 14th, 2008The Red Sox have announced that the team will freeze ticket prices for all existing seats for the upcoming 2009 season at Fenway Park. This is the first season the Red Sox have not raised their ticket prices since 1995 or 14 years. The Red Sox have sold out over 460 consecutive games at Fenway Park. As long as the Red Sox keep winning, the fans will come. If the Red Sox decide to field a team with much lower payroll, they risk a losing season and lost revenue streams from all the other ways to spend money at Fenway Park.
Phillies vs. Rays in 2008 World Series
October 20th, 2008The Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies will battle each other in the 2008 World Series beginning with Game One Wednesday at Tropicana Field. Even with a miracle comeback in Game 5 and a solid Game 6 win, the Red Sox could not stage a comeback. Tampa Bay defeated the Red Sox 3-1 to take Game 7 and the 2008 American League Championship. JD Drew came up with two out and the bases loaded in the eight inning but struck out half looking. JD hit a grand slam vs the Indians in Game 7 of the 2007 ALCS. The Red Sox blew a number of other opportunities, CoCo tried to take out the second basemen instead of tagging second base. The Tampa Bay Rays are a great young team and hats off to them and their bullpen. Sweep the Phillies. There are a lot of questions already for the 2009 Boston Red Sox that will be resolved in the near future. Will the Red Sox sign Tek? Can Big Papi make a comeback from and injury-plaged season? Is Josh Beckett okay? Can Mike Lowell rehab? Which JD Drew will show up new year? How will the Sox spend the Manny money, or will they pocket it? There will be a lot more Red Sox baseball to come, but there will be no more late night Red Sox victories this year.
RED SOX ON THE VERGE OF 2008 WORLD SERIES
October 19th, 2008The Boston Red Sox have gone from seven outs left in their 2008 season down 7-0 against the Tampa Bay Rays to fight their way back to force a Game 7 showdown in the American League Championship Series. The momentum from their historical Game 5 comeback carried over into last night as the Red Sox won 4-2 in Game 6 on the backs of Josh Beckett, Jason Varitek, Kevin Youkilis, Hideki Okajima and Jonathan Papelbon. If the Red Sox can win Game 7 tonight at Tropicana Field, they would comepte in the World Series versus the Philadelphia Phillies and would be heavily favored to continue their momentum and win.
Red Sox Come From Seven Runs Down To Beat Rays
October 17th, 2008The Boston Red Sox pulled off an amazing and improbable come from behind victory to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-7 last night. Down 7-0 in Game 5 of the ALCS to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Red Sox had seven outs left in their 2008 season while the Rays were seven outs away from their 1st World Series. The Red Sox, comeback kings of the 21st century were able to ignite the largest postseason comeback in 79 years to force a Game Six Saturday night in Tampa.
